How the lab works

  1. 1

    The Partnership

A robust alliance comprising the City of Marseille, specialised cycling networks and associations (such as Boîtes à Vélo France, 3S and Ekinos), schools, community centres and local SMEs.

  2. 2

    Community Empowerment

Cycling associations and local SMEs facilitate skill-building and awareness workshops, enabling residents to actively co-design activities around bicycle mechanics, bike-sharing and related cultural events.

  3. 3

    The Initiative

A local Community Mobility Hub focused on bicycle repair and reconditioning, cargo-bike services, cycle logistics and dedicated vocational training spaces.

Key goal

Create accessible employment opportunities by training people in bike-related careers, promoting active cycling and reducing local carbon emissions.
