How the lab works

  1. 1

    The Partnership

This pilot brings together the developer Ogilvie Group, the Aberdeen City Council, local social enterprises, universities and civic organisations. Together, they align the new development with the city’s Net Zero Route Map and Circular Economy Strategy.

  2. 2

    Community Empowerment

New residents, families, young people and unemployed adults are invited to shape local sustainability through co-creation workshops, training and community-building initiatives.

  3. 3

    The Initiative

The Circular Neighbourhood Hub (CNH) serves as a dedicated physical space for local sharing, reuse and repair services. The pilot is also developing a Circular Neighbourhood Toolkit to make these local circular business models easily replicable across other urban developments.

Key goal

Create resource-efficient, socially cohesive and resilient new neighbourhoods thanks to co-designed, bottom-up social enterprises.
